State and Local Govt. False Claims Acts
There are several states and municipalities with their their own versions of the False Claims Act, that allow whistleblowers to recover money against businesses that defraud state and local governments. Included in this list on the state level are Arkansas*, California, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana,Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and on the Municipal level: the District of Columbia, the City of New York and the City of Chicago.
* Arkansas False Claims Act is unlike other states, in the sense that a private person can't file a qui tam claim.
